SCO DESIGN INNOVATION CHALLENGE

In partnership with UAL and their Design Against Crime team, a panel of retail judges from Asda, Carrefour, Lidl and Tesco will be working with a proven academic team and graduates to create new “blue sky” design concepts that can help “design out” the opportunities for scans to be missed and to go undetected. The journey starts in September with a briefing, followed by months of immersive experiences where the design team will learn first hand how scans are missed, and how new design features can be included to increase scan accuracy and improve customer service. This challenge is also open to all store design agencies who would like to submit their own designs that meet the challenges identified in the brief.

The final designs from the academics and store design experts will be presented at the SCO workshop planned for Feb 11th and 12th in London.
